About MK Leather

When I found the kink world, I was astounded by each toy I saw. Every variation, every sensation, and the glow on the tops face during their “toybox tour”. I started sceneing and threw myself all in, going to the dungeon multiple times a week, bottoming for impact, electro, fireplay, and eventually topping for each of those as well. I started with nothing but a leather glove from my motorcycle jacket.

Then i made the mistake that so many new kinkster make early in their journey… i shopped on amazon. Terrible gear made from “genuine leather”, and held together with glue. They broke within a week. I saw the worst of toys from amazon, to the best of toys from friends showing off. Something clicked. I grew up woodworking, I did cosplay, I even did some metal work for a bit. Why not pick up leatherworking? I got my first piece of leather, an 8oz black water buffalo hide with an amazing grain. I spent the next 2 weeks staring at it, box cutter on my kitchen table and a retired cutting board underneath, scared to make a single cut. Till I finally worked up the nerve, and cut a single square foot from the very edge of the hide. Just enough to make a tiny 8 inch paddle, ribs down the spine, a hook tip, and the sharpie lines I used as an outline shining in the light. It was terrible. Uneven holes made by using my drill gun, edges uncomfortable in the hand, and so floppy the “sensations” I built into it feeling barely any different than flat leather. But I did it, and if I could do it bad, I could do it better. For 8 inches to 38 inches I leaned into the floppy nature and made a giant slapper, one i still keep in my bag as “the finisher”. Then a kendo style cane, then a flogger, then vegtan, then, structural plastic, then metal and epoxy. When some friends bought a few pieces it became an obsession.

Make any toy I can think of, every strange idea, playing with sensations, thud, sting, scratchy, silly and unique ways to use it. Only to sell for just enough to buy new material, buy new tools, buy new workbenches. Try ANY idea i could think of, shooting out of bed to draw a new design. I learned I don't like custom, when crafting something for money it felt like work. When I crafted for me, I'd happily craft for hours on end. Nearly 4 years later here I am. Going from local vending fairs, talking endlessly about my favorite hobby at nightclubs with my booth. I finally feel like I've grown enough to go online, I haven't put everything of mine on the website, but I hope to bring more of my collection in soon. The name doesn't fully stick anymore, but it's still one I love. MK_Leather, more like MK_Leather and beyond, the willy wonka of kink, specializing in the weird, the wacky, and the wonderful in between.
